I have had experience with other communities, and The Stratford at Dudley Square is by far the best. It is somewhat remote from Atlanta, but the distance is worth the travel.

When we were looking for a community for my sister the pearl was recommended by the Presbyterian Village. It is a big deal when the competition recommends the community. There was a waiting list at first. My sister got into another Stratford community. We have been very pleased with the community she is in.

It is a good community. The bathrooms could be kept a little cleaner. There are sometimes the light bulb has been out. I have not checked her Chester drawers lately. She is a hoarder. Overall it is a good place. It bothers me that they have a high turnover in staff. It kind of concerns me. I don't have a specific issue. Even with the director their that changed and I don't understand that either.

Sharron and Diane were instrumental in getting her arranged. I have three members there. It is a ministry. The people that work there are actively engaged in helping the individuals have a good quality of life. They truly care about each individual. There is no perfect place. There are things I like and things I don't. They don't really seem to have enough staff. Management did tell me one day that they were overstaffed by one. That makes me think someone isn't using their time wisely or someone is living in a dream world about what someone is capable of getting done. Caring for people like his is not an assembly or production line, or it shouldn't be anyways...not at the prices you have to pay for this kind of care.

Sharron, the ED, is very very knowledgeable and has a great amount of experience for caring for people. She made a point about coming in and talking to us about the medicine that they thought would help Ricky the best. Because it is just memory care, their focus is better than also having assisted living. You still need to go and visit the patient and have an active part in the care of your resident.

They have helped us with how to navigate this process with a disease that we don't understand. They are specifically trained and geared toward the community they serve. Regardless of the etiology of memory care, they know how to calm them down, make them feel safe and loved, and help them to understand themselves. They are very aware of their patient and kind in helping those patients. Memory care is very different than normal aging. I already have another family member who I am talking to about what goes on there, because there is a possibility that in the future they may need to know about it. It is hard to get in, but it is worth it. We are truthfully blessed that when we needed it there happened to be a room that wasn't on the waiting list.

I already have recommended The Stratford at Dudley Square. It is very clean, they have very friendly staff. If they could afford to get more staff, they could have a better ration. I know they have industry standards they are meeting, but based on the needs of these residents it would be better with a higher ratio of staff to members so they can keep them out of mischief and go for walks in the courtyard. Usually they are fighting to keep up with everything. They are doing an awesome job, but it would work better with a higher staff to resident ratio.

Overall, I am very satisfied. I would tell someone that it is very well organized, and the communication is great. They are responsive. I like that there is an outside agency that has a social worker and nurse practitioner monitoring him. In the very beginning the resident needs connection with one person to reassure him that he is okay.

I have already recommended The Stratford at Dudley Square to friends and family members. They genuinely care, and they are very upbeat and positive. As a caregiver, even though I only had one person, it is difficult and stressful. The staff at The Stratford are joyful, and when I go in there everyone is so nice. The place is beautiful, and they care. I tried to keep my mom home for as long as I could. It was uncomfortable for me to place her somewhere else, but I have not been uncomfortable once.

You will not find a better facility in the south east of the United States than The Stratford at Dudley Square. I recently moved from Arkansas, and I know it is the best in the state of Georgia. The facility is head and shoulders over anything that they have in Arkansas.

I trust that my mother is safe and that they're looking out for her. I would be more likely to recommend The Stratford at Dudley Square if they kept their staff around longer. Some of the best people have left or moved on to other positions. They charge a lot and they should be able to pay their employees more. The staff at the Stratford at Dudley Square is really good. Mom was in another facility where the staff was not as caring and I feel like that is the best part of the facility. I also think the the figure 8 layout of the building with enough space and recliners for residents to walk and rest when they are wondering about the community. The accommodations of the community are also very nice to include the bird aviary, fish tank and walking areas.

They're caring and when they have an employee there that is "a rotten apple in the basket", they get rid of them. Once they see someone isn't adequately doing their job, they replace them. If I could rate this a 10 I would and I have recommended them to others. My mom was in a facility prior to being at Westminster and we watched the care deteriorate and when I went over to Westminster to tour and talk with them about moving my mom they were very receptive to what I was saying and took my concerns seriously. The most important thing to me is how she is cared for and they care about what they are doing and take pride in it. I don't go to bed at night wondering if she is being taken care of or not, because I know she is and I tell others that if they want their loved one to be in a place where they know they will be cared for then they need to have them at Westminster.
